Coos County Fair 2013

In late July the girls and I ventured down to the Myrtle Point for the 2013 Coos County Fair. Cousin Sydney was showing her steer and we couldn't miss that!  First stop though was a visit with Smokey Bear. Lauren loved him....don't think that kid has met a mascot she doesn't!
Then it was off to see Sydney.  Here she is with Husker.

Then we walked over to the "Ladies in Waiting" tent to check out the babies. Lauren fell in love with the pigs. In fact it made her cry when the 4-H kids did their piglet scramble during the rodeo!
 The pig whisperer!
She also got to hold a baby chick. Thanks Aunt Emmy for capturing this since I'm not sure what I was doing!
We then caught up with Sydney and she showed us her prize winning, on-to-state-fair presentation board on Pneumonia in Beef Cattle.
The next day we were back at the fair watching Sydney show a little bull calf for some friends.

Sam and Lauren wanted to ride the train, so Auntie B took them.  But they never left the station because Sam was told that he could show the same little bull calf in another class.

 Sam being a little confident!
Then after lunch, Sydney showed the same bull calf for showmanship.

Lauren wanted to ride some rides, but there was only 1 that didn't go up and down or side to side!  So she rode it a few times that weekend!
Heaven help us when she turns 16.
Friday night was rodeo night!  The girls were in their matching overalls.
 The "mom" self portrait.
Lauren with her favorite girl cousin!
Cousin Sam took part in the chicken race.  Lauren thought she wanted too, decided against it.  But she says she wants to do it next year.  She's got a little too much "city" in her that we need to get out!  Next year we'll be ready!
Saturday morning was parade time! Adalynn with of course Bald Baby.
Sam got to be on the MP Wrestling float!
And Lauren got to hang out with Noni and her Nana Susie to grab some candy!
It was a great trip. Luckily the girls didn't get sunburned but mommy wasn't so fortunate. It is so nice to be back in Oregon where the trip to Coos County is only a 3 hour trip and not an entire day!

Summer Catch Up

Once getting moved down to Oregon, we ventured to Brownsville for the Pioneer Picnic. Stopped by the Tenbusch's and walked to the park.  Lauren and Evelyn looked so cute together!
The guys pushed the strollers and the mommys got a break.  I have proof but am not allowed to post the picture!

Evelyn shared her leftover tickets from the previous day with Lauren to use on the blow up toys.  The problem is now Lauren thinks the park should always have a bounce house and giant slide!

Adalynn passed out with bald baby.  Too much fun for her!
Lauren and I had some mommy and me time a couple weeks later for the opening of Despicable Me 2.
We ventured out to the Linn County Fair. Lauren doesn't like rides that go up and down or side to side. Fortunately they had this level 4x4 Toddler ride which was a success. Then we played some "no lose" kid games and now have a collection of weird big eye animals!

Adalynn has made the discovery of corn.  She wants her own and doesn't allow us to help her. She is definitely independent in certain aspects!
Adalynn has also discovered swinging. She likes it or so it seems. As long as Bald Baby is with her.
We have moved out of Meema and Papa's into a duplex closer to Eugene. We would like to buy a place back in Brownsville and the few weeks we have been here has confirmed that. So here's hoping that day comes sooner than later!

Slip and Slidding for Adalynn

So Adalynn took her first ride on a slip and slide yesterday. Do you think she liked it??
Then she decided she didn't need any help and would rather just run down it herself.
Our little dare devil.  Lauren wouldn't have even thought about it, let alone tried it.  Not this one.
Lauren has finally caught on with how this thing works and actually played in it for quite awhile.
This one is a little out of focus but you can see how much velocity she can get with a little help! She crashed in the grass but got back up and did it again. It's only taken her 4 years!

Fourth of July weekend

So we are moved out of Washington and got official word that the house closed on July 3rd. So the majority of our 4th was spent relaxing and waiting on a For Sale By Owner (who decided not to sell).  Here's Lauren playing with the water table I bought mostly for Adalynn!
We did a few fireworks, but Lauren hates them. So it didn't take long for the show to be over.  We had a couple of ones from Washington that shoot out parachuting aliens.  However this one looked more like an astronaut.
Friday was date night, so the girls got to stay with a babysitter.  It's been forever since we were able to do that!  Then Saturday we got up and went to the coast.  Gorgeous day.
Adalynn's first trip to the coast and of course Bald Baby went along (this is technically sister's BB, but Adalynn doesn't care!).
Lauren had been begging to play in the sand!
 Having a blast!
 The gorgeous weather!
 Doing a little kite flying.

Lauren's sand castle.  We had to be out of the majority of the wind for Adalynn, so the sand wasn't ideal, but she made the most of it!
I think everyone had a great time.

Here's a few pictures of our Smiley 1 year old back at Meema and Papa's.

So that's what we've been up too. Busily house hunting. Right now we have switched gears and are looking for a rental. We may have something and will know hopefully soon. Fingers crossed.
