Birthday outfit for Mommy!

Today was mommy's birthday so Lauren had to get out a new outfit she hadn't worn yet! This is a cute set that was given to her by Ken and Diane. Everything matches, even the bottom on the pants even have inlaid matching fabric! Pink and brown is very popular for baby girls! Super Cute! She had to get all dolled up to go to a Chamber meeting in Lebanon, which daddy suprised mommy with a delivery of a dozen red roses. Daddy had to be gone to Washington, but he is supposed to pick up a Coldstone icecream cake on his way home! We also stopped by to see grandma at work. Then she slept through a Wal-Mart run. And even after a busy day, she still didn't want to go to sleep tonight!

Four Generations

Mommy's birthday is coming up so we gathered at Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner; fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and green peas! Great Grandma came and we finally had our "4 Generations" photo taken. It's a little overdue, but we finally got it done!

Lauren with Great Grandma

Grandma says her eyes aren't closed! You be the judge!

All bundled up with somewhere to go

Today we went to grandma and grandpa's house. Mommy thought it would be a good idea to put Lauren in the cute bear suit that daddy's Uncle Richie and Aunt Jackie got her instead of wrapping her in a blanket. This outfit lasted until it was time to put her in the carseat. Then she came unglued! She didn't seem to mind it until she got strapped in! I'm sorry to say it was left at home. It's still a little big since it's a 6 month outfit. I'm sure she'll wear it during an outting around town in the stroller.

Lauren hates hats!

Like I've said before, Lauren hates hats. And unfortunately, she really does not like wearing this one. It made mommy sad because her daddy's Aunt Laura made it for her with love. Sometimes she'll tolerate them for at least a photo opportunity but not this day! I never could make her smile with it on! Shoot!

This Bumbo seat is sooooo comfy....

....in fact it's so comfortable that Miss Lauren fell asleep in hers tonight! You have to watch them in order. Mommy and Daddy are occassionally caught laughing! It was pretty sweet! She obviously takes after her Papa Eddie in this trait!

Back to work, back to the sitter......

Week 2 back to work (or only 3 weeks left of work, whichever way you want to count) started with getting Miss Lauren ready for the sitter's house. I found her cute outfits from Doyle and Candi over the weekend...and realized they finally fit! They are 3 month outfits but OshKosh seems to run a bit bigger than the Carter's stuff which is odd since they are owned by the same group. So she wore one of those with a cute hat that Nana found at a craft fair before Christmas. Lauren typically hates hats, but sometimes I can keep them on long enough for the photo opportunity. She actually kept this one on long enough to get the sitter's house...then it had to come off.

Daddy's version of babysitting

Today Mommy got to get out of the house and do a little shopping. But even before I'd left the house Daddy already had Lauren playing PlayStation 2.....even though she's not supposed to watch television! I found a couple of bargains for Lauren, an outfit for myself, treats for Biscuit and Daddy got pizza and beer....so everyone was happy!

On Saturday Lauren was rolling over to her side and I helped her over to her stomach. She immediately rolled back over to her back BY HERSELF! I haven't been able to get her to do it again, but I know that log rolls are only a few days away! She also reached up and pressed the button of her fish mobile to make the music play all BY HERSELF! She's getting to be very independent.

3 months old today!

Yes, that's right....Little Lauren is 3 months old today. I haven't posted in awhile. I've been keeping our angel to myself. I needed lots of personal time. Mommy went back to work yesterday and Lauren went to her first day at daycare. This is now my fifth person and that was before daycare started. So we figured that someone upstairs must be trying to tell us something. So daycare is only temporary as mommy turned in her notice to change her job title to "Stay-at-home-mom". My last day is Jan. 30, then they've thankfully changed me to casual status in case they need help or have a project I can do from home. I figure that there is plenty of time in my life for a career. She's only little once. We'll just have to tighten down as a family budget-wise. And I'll never regret staying at home with her, which I might if I went back to work full-time.

So the first day back at work went quickly as I'm only working half days. She did great. Mommy was a mess. I started to get a sick feeling in my stomach before we left. I didn't breakdown until I got to work and someone asked "How was it this morning?" She slept quite awhile once she got home. I think with all the other little kids around it was overstimulating.

Our big 3 month old!

Lauren trying to roll over. She gets to this point and hasn't quite figured out how to get over. But if you help her, she gets very angry. So she'd rather stay in this position and talk to you.

So Lauren's 3 months. We don't have a doctor's appointment for another month...but I'm very curious as to how much she weighs. Some of her pajamas are 6m size. They are a little big, but many of her 3m size are getting too snug. She's getting very close to rolling over and she really wants to sit up on her own. If she's propped up, she'll do crunches until you either pick her up OR she blows up! She's found out that she has hands and gets very angry when she tries to pick something up but they don't work to her satisfaction. I'm sure it's just a matter time before she's rolling over, sitting up, crawling and everything else!
