Jibber Jabber....listen carefully!

This is the thanks Mommy gets for the sleepless nights, feeding, bathing, diapering.....yup, that's just dandy!
Now, I will say that it's not in context.....even though I know it's just a matter of time.  But there's still hope for a "Mama" to slip out!

Mariners' Caravan

A couple weeks ago the Mariners' Caravan stopped in Lacey at Saint Martin's.  They make a criss cross journey across the state before they have to report for Spring Training.  Fan Fest in this upcoming weekend at Safeco.  So the girls and I went.  Lauren wouldn't miss an opportunity to see Mariner Moose.
The above pic a lady in front of us offered to take.  Too bad Lauren wasn't looking and we could crop the random in the background out of it!  I like the one below better! Even if it is an extreme closeup!
 Here's Lauren with Mariner Moose.
Then we stood patiently in line to see John Jaso, Mike Carp, Dan Wilson and the announcer Dave Smith.  The big bummer was that last week they announced they traded John Jaso.  Seriously??!  Lauren had taken a liking to him after asking him what was his favorite "pie to the face" incident he has pulled.  Which he responded "Eric Thames because his mouth was open!"  We actually saw that one on TV!  So now she's lost Doug Fister and John Jaso!  Hopefully they don't trade Mariner Moose!
I love this pic of all of us. After we saw the players and got autographs, we got another pic with Mariner Moose.  Adalynn didn't cry but wouldn't take her eyes off of him!

Quick story.  So during the "pep rally" portion they had a drawing.  We had 3 tickets for the 3 of us.  Lauren won (or atleast one of us did!)!!  She won an oversized t-shirt for herself.  She was so excited.  She ran up there and tried giving her ticket to any player that would take it. Then Mariner Moose, pretending to be scared by her excitement, threw the t-shirt on her head. She stood there for a good 30 seconds frozen.  The crowd was laughing.  Moose finally took the shirt off of her, then had her picture taken with Moose by the Mariners photographer.  It was pretty funny!  She was so excited she handed her t-shirt back to Moose and started to leave! Until they all told her "no the t-shirt's yours!"  One excited girl!

Christmas Lights

A couple nights ago, the girls and mommy ran out to a light display at the end the road.  An older gentleman sets up light displays on his paths, plays Christmas music and charges people to walk through it to help with the electrical costs.  We were going to go last year, but Lauren was sick. Then we talked about zoolights this year, but with the Oregon trip, weather and trying to stay healthy before, it just wasn't in the cards.  So this will have to do until next year.

This was a scene where the Santa snored in the house. I had to explain to Lauren that Santa was exhausted!
Snoopy was one of her favorite displays.
Adalynn all tucked in with her wool blankets and multiple layers.  It was 35 degrees when we got there and 33 when we left with fog (not shocking there).  And snowed the next day.  So to say it was chilly was a bit of an understatement.
Wait, it's the Grinch!  Maybe this was her favorite!
There were quite of few Baby Jesus displays for Lauren!
 Our girls
And this was Mommy's favorite.  Santa chilin in his trailer.  Dang, I need this for our yard!
So we made it through another Holiday season.  Phew! Only 358 days until the next one.

Quick Myrtle Point visit

Well we were up and out of Meema and Papa's early Christmas Morning.  After 3 stops and an hour later, we were barely past the Brownsville exit.  Adalynn needed a nap and didn't want too.  Ugh.  Finally she crashed and we headed non stop, trying to miss stop lights in Winston until pulling into Kyle and Franki's in Myrtle Point around 11:15.  We got a quick visit in with them, picked up Syd and ran out to Nana and Papa's.

Daddy got Rock Em Sock Em, so there was an impromptu tournament after present opening. Lauren thinks it's pretty cool and got out Hungry Hippos too. She's a gamer!

Adalynn took a nap on a new dog bed, prior to the dog using it.  One time though, Belle didn't realize there was something under the blanket on her bed and tried to bed down on top of her legs/tummy.  She woke up briefly and then back to sleep!  I thought the photo op was priceless.  Looks like a Christmas star!
Finally Adalynn let someone else other than mommy hold her.  Emmy baited her with jewelry.
The next day we made the long haul home. It was too much to ask of Adalynn though.  She hasn't traveled farther than 30 minutes since August.  So to ask her to sit for 8 hours and the kid takes 20 minute naps, it didn't work very well.  We were all glad to be home and out of the confined space!  Hope you all had a great Christmas and we wish you best in the New Year!

Cousins

Christmas Day we ran down to Myrtle Point.  We got to pick Sydney up on the way out to Nana and Papa's. Sam was sick, which was a huge disappointment.  But we were there for Thanksgiving so we completely understand.  Still stinks though!

Lauren and her expressive eyebrows.  Her facial expressions just wouldn't stop!
Not sure if it was Christmas or cousin Sydney or what, but Lauren was not very cooperative in the 5 minute photo shoot.  And we'd already done Christmas, so there was NOOOOO leverage.
This one's pretty good of all of them!
 Once again, overly excited!
We finally let the 4 year old run around and Sydney wanted pics with just Adalynn.  Of course Adalynn had to check her out.....
And Lauren had to be obnoxious and photo bomb it!
But we finally got a few good ones!

I forgot to get Adalynn black tights.....but I thought this was cute with her toes poking through and playing with them!
 Pretty cute.
Then big sister wanted in, but only for 20 seconds until she realized Sydney was gone.  Ugh!
Oh well, maybe they'll be more cooperative next year!  HA HA HA!

Meema and Papa's

On the 21st, we packed up and headed to Oregon for Christmas.  We spent a few nights at  Meema and Papa's.  Here's a pic of Adalynn sitting in Gram Gram's rocking chair. She loved it, but it made me nervous so she didn't stay in it unless she was supervised!
The first day was rough!  Adalynn about fell asleep on the couch.  And Biscuit laid on her as her protector.  She really loves her....right now anyway!
On Saturday, mommy's friend and Adalynn's godmother made a trip out to visit and introduce us to Parker.  He's only 3 months and Adalynn was very curious.
 Trying to make friends.
Hugs and kisses for Parker. She gives open mouth kisses now, so hopefully she didn't leave teeth marks on his head!
One smiley guy!  Erin made sure to dress him in an outfit I bought him!  AHHH!
Adalynn thinking this was pretty cool!
Sunday we let the girls open presents from one another.  This is Adalynn opening her present from Lauren.
Oh look it's paper!  She liked the paper and bows more than anything I think!  She got a singing Christmas Alvin from sissy and......
a small Darth Vadar to match her Yoda!  Go figure. Lauren went shopping with Daddy!
Here's Lauren trying to guess what Adalynn got her.
Tah Dah!  A larger Tangled Rapunzel doll.  Obviously Adalynn went shopping with mommy! She's got the catalog for the American Girl dolls the last 2 years and wants one.  The deal is, she takes care of this one and maybe she can get one next year.
Christmas Eve the girls got dressed up for Gram Gram.  The dress Adalynn wore is one that Lauren wore when she was 15 months.  And it fit, maybe a tad big but not by much.

She liked to eat her dress.
Christmas morning Santa had found his way to Meema and Papa's.  Whew!
Santa brought them matching pjs....not the ones they are wearing but the cupcakes ones Lauren obviously didn't want.  Whoops.  She wanted butterflies.  Santa couldn't find butterflies or the material to make them apparently.
Adalynn found the tag on hers....typical.
Lauren helping Adalynn with her stocking.
Wait, there was more under the tree from Santa.  I love the look on Adalynn's face.  Almost like "What is it??!!"

 A talking puppy!  Yay!
And Lauren another Lalaloopsy, just what she asked for.  Nailed it Santa!
We got ready, had some razor clams and eggs.....yes Lauren loves them....and headed to Myrtle Point.
